Item Summary:

Bid #11-363-B was issued and ten (10) bids were received ranging from $37,541 to $182,108. Tri Scapes was the lowest responsive, responsible bidder in the amount of $42,586.  The landscaping is the final phase of the Midtown Streetscape Project.  This contract calls for the purchase and installation of plant material and a one-year guarantee. 

 

The Midtown project consists of the resurfacing and re-striping of Alpharetta Street/SR9 from Norcross Street to Mansell Circle for a total length of 1.1 miles. It also includes the removal and replacement of the curb and gutter, driveways, sidewalks, a 12-foot wide stamped asphalt center turn lane as well as pedestrian lighting, removal of numerous wires across the road, and the installation of landscaping on both sides. 

 

Committee or Staff Recommendation:

On January 25, 2012 the Community Development and Transportation Committee recommended placing this Item on the February 13, 2012 Mayor and Council Agenda.

 

Financial Impact:

Funds in the amount of $251,989.54 are approved and available in the Midtown Streetscape Account, Cost Center 4210CP, Account #541415, Project #05TRA007. Upon approval $209,403.54 will be remaining.
