Item Summary:
Section 3.100 of the City Charter requires the Council to select a mayor pro-tem from their members at the first scheduled meeting in January of each year. A councilmember is not allowed to serve consecutive terms as mayor pro-tem. The mayor pro-tem assumes the duties and powers of the Mayor during the Mayor's disability or absence.
