Item Summary:
In an effort to maintain the usefulness of resources within the City's vehicle capital an annual replacement program is in place to systematically replace vehicles as needed. Three vehicles have been identified and justified for replacement in Fiscal Year 2013 (FY2013) which includes three (3) pick-up trucks. The total amount of the replacement vehicles is $68,105.03.
 
The recommendation for vehicle purchases is as follows:
 
·      Maxie Price Chevrolet (1) pick-up truck, $25,626.59.  This vehicle is designated for Fleet Services (Org 60449000).
·      Hardy Chevrolet (2) pick-up trucks from State Contract, $42,478.44.  One vehicle is designated for Water Distribution (Org 50544400) and one for Stormwater Services (Org 50743200).
 
Committee or Staff Recommendation:
On December 11, 2012 the Public Safety and Public Works Committee recommended placing this item on the December 17, 2012 Mayor and Council Agenda.
 
Financial Impact:
$116,135 is approved and available for veshicle replacement as follows:
      · $25,000 in the Water Fund, Org 50544400, object 542200, project 80029;
      · $51,135 in the Stormwater Fund, Org 50743200, object 542200, project 82002; and
      · $40,000 in the Fleet Services Fund, Org 60449000, object 542200, project 83002.
