Item Summary:

Traditionally the City of Roswell has made a gift of the service weapon and badge to retiring officers in honor of their service. The Police Department requests permission to transfer ownership of the officer's department issued side arm and badge to this year's retiring officers. The cost of each Glock model 22 service weapon was $409. The cost for each badge was $80. If approved, the equipment can be replaced from the Confiscated Assets Fund.

On August 10, 2010 the Public Safety & Public Works Committee recommended placing this item on the August 23, 2010 Mayor and Council Agenda.

 

Financial Impact:

The impact to the Confiscated Assets Fund is approximately $2,500.
