Item Summary:
A State permit is required so that City speed limits can be enforced.
Georgia State law 40-14-3 states that each jurisdiction may apply for a permit to authorize the use of speed detection devices and that such application shall name the street or road on which the device is to be used and the speed limits on such street or road shall have been approved by the Office of Traffic Operations of the Department of Transportation.
Roswell's permit was last updated on August 17, 2009 through the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) and the Department of Public Safety (DPS) and expires on December 31, 2012.
