Item Summary:
Invitation to Bid #11-229-B was issued and five (5) companies submitted a total of 13 bids. The five (5) lowest bids ranged from $18,600 to $69,390.64. The bid specifications contained three alternates: stacked stone, standard brick, and stamped concrete ("ashlar" finish). Bidders could submit a bid on any or all of the specified alternates. The lowest bids for each of the three alternates are:
• Stack Stone Facing - $34,390.64 (CB Summer Construction)
• Stamped Concrete Facing - $22,700.77 (Lewallen Construction)
• Standard Brick Facing - $18,600 (Fathers Construction)
Any of the three alternates are appropriate for the wall. There are several variations of the brick that are all the same price.

On September 28, 2011 the Community Development and Transportation Committee recommended placing this Item on the October 10, 2011 Mayor and Council Agenda.
Financial Impact:
Funds in the amount of $284,655.02 are approved and available in the Sidewalk Connectivity Account: Cost Center 4210CP, Account #541415, Project # 06TRA001.
