Description:

Currently, there is a gap in the department’s approach to conducting drug enforcement in Roswell and the North Fulton area. The department is actively involved in federal initiatives to investigate and prosecute "high-level" drug offenders. In addition, patrol officers periodically make arrests resulting from random encounters with offenders. Otherwise, there are no on-going coordinated drug investigations. To address this issue, one approach may be to collaborate with neighboring North Fulton departments to develop a drug unit/task force. The purpose of this discussion is to identify the issues surrounding the formation of a drug task force and seek guidance on the issue.
