Item Summary:
An annual replacement program is in place to systematically replace vehicles as needed. Fifty (50) vehicles have been identified and justified for replacement in FY2013. Twelve (12) Pick-up trucks, seven (7) SUV's, and Thirty-one (31) Sedans. Twelve (12) auto dealers responded to the invitations to bid and the recommendation for vehicle purchases is as follows:
1. Maxie Price Chevrolet - Six (6) Pick-up trucks and twenty nine (29) Caprice sedans, $900,027.55.
2. Clay Automotive Chevrolet - Two (2) Tahoe SUV's and one (1) Administration sedan, $69,084.76.
3. Hardy Chevrolet - Six (6) Pick-up trucks and one (1) Administration sedan from State Contract, $125,967.15.
4. Wade Ford - One (1) HD Pick-up truck and four (4) Explorer SUV's, $128,408.00.
5. Chestatee Ford - One (1) Explorer SUV $21,500.00.
6. Vehicle Equipment - $344,707.63
Committee or Staff Recommendation:
On December 11, 2012, the Administration, Finance and Recreation and Parks Committee recommended placing this Item on the December 17, 2012 Mayor and Council Agenda.
Financial Impact:
$1,644,299.74 is approved and available for FY 2013 Vehicle Replacement in the Citywide Vehicle Replacement project in Org 35015850, object 542200, project 14001.
