Item Summary:
This grant provides for the purchase of an Automatic License Plate Reader (ALPR).  The ALPR will enhance officer efficiency and improve officer safety.   and provide information for better intelligence gathering.
 
Committee or Staff Recommendation:
On May 28, 2014 Mayor and City Council approved a Resolution to Submit the FY2014 JAG Grant.  
 
Financial Impact:
The total project budget for the ALPR equipment is $20,000 with $10,449 coming from the JAG Grant and $9,551 from Grant Match Contingency funds. Grant match funding in the amount of $9,551 is available in Org 10015850, Account 579020, and Project 14003.  Allocation of the $9,551 will leave $320,025 in Approved Grant Match funding for future grant opportunities.
