Item Summary:
Bid #09-295B was issued and nine (9) bids were received for the Midtown Streetscape Project. The bids ranged from $1,967,410.78 to $2,533,800.16. Urey Companies, LLC was the lowest responsive responsible bidder in the amount of $1,967,410.78. The bid information has been approved by GDOT.
This project includes the resurfacing and re-striping of Alpharetta Street, State Route 9 from Norcross Street to Mansell Circle for a total length of 1.1 miles. It will also include the removal and replacement of the curb and gutter, driveways, sidewalks, and the installation of landscaping on both sides as well as a 12 foot wide stamped asphalt center turn lane. This project is scheduled to take approximately twelve months to complete after notice to proceed.

Due to time constraints, this item is being brought directly to Council in lieu of waiting for the December 23, 2009 Community Development and Transportation Committee Meeting.
Financial Impact:
The total estimated cost of the project is $2,025,629.79 with an 80/20 split, $1,620,503.83 (Federal) and $405,125.96 (City). This amount includes the construction contract with Urey and the contract with QK4 for on-call construction management services.
