Body
Item Summary:
This is a traffic operational improvement project to eliminate the SR 140 eastbound left turn 'trap' lane approaching Old Alabama Road. The project will add a right turn lane to the existing SR 400 northbound ramp 7A and modify the existing traffic signal. In the westbound direction the left-turn lane to southbound SR 400 will be extended.

The agreement stipulates that GDOT will reimburse the City for construction costs and GDOT required materials testing up to $1,045,903.11. Roswell will provide local oversight and inspection of construction.

Committee or Staff Recommendation:
On August 27, 2014 the Community Development and Transportation Committee recommended placing this Item on the September 10, 2014 Mayor and Council Agenda.

Financial Impact:
The original project budget was established at $1,125,000 and was based upon GDOT estimates.  Upon approval of Budget Amendment 22142200-09-10-2014, the budget will be increased by $148,878.11 based upon the actual cost of project design and construction.

Total construction cost for the improvement project is $1,045,903.11 for which the City will be reimbursed completely by GDOT.  Funding for this project will be available in Org 22142200, Object 541415, and Project 91011.
