Body
Item Summary:
Over the last 15 months, the City has participated in the development of the North Fulton Comprehensive Transportation Plan (NFCTP). This plan, funded by the Atlanta Regional Commission with matching funds by the City, worked cooperatively with the other cities of north Fulton County to develop a comprehensive list of policies and projects to address congestion and mobility throughout the entire north Fulton County area.
The results of study include projects for all transportation modes focusing specifically on operational-themed projects such as ATMS, intersection improvements, and turn lanes as well as expanded bicycle and pedestrian connections through the City.
Finally, the cities of north Fulton County developed a strong working relationship throughout the development of the NFCTP that strengthens the voice of the cities in matters of regional and state transportation funding. The most recent example of this cooperation was the submission of comments to the Georgia Department of Transportation related to the House Bill 277 legislation. The north Fulton cities sent a joint letter that included comments focusing on the planning-level issues within the bill.
The attachment to the adopting resolution is a section of the recently published document. This excerpt includes the Five-Year Action Plan and the Appendix that includes the Tier 1 Project Fact Sheets.
