Item Summary:
This resolution authorizes the acceptance of the 2012 CDBG allocation from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) in the amount of $417,613 and awards the previously approved amounts to the organizations per the 2012 Annual Action Plan.  A resolution is needed to accept the grant funds within 60 days (from April 19, 2012), to execute the agreement and commence the projects approved for funding.
 
The projects for the 2012 CDBG allocation include:
·      Child Development Association - $50,000 for improved intersection safety;
·      City of Roswell - $80,026 for administration and consultant for Analysis of Impediments;
·      Roswell Recreation and Parks - $177,587 for ARC fitness center expansion;
·      Drake House - $25,000 for HVAC repair;
·      HomeStretch North Fulton - $40,000 for rehab of Millbrook Cir. and Roswell Commons;
·      North Fulton Community Charities - $25,000 to extend canopy to preserve donated items;
·      Senior Services of North Fulton - $10,000 to increase transportation services for seniors;
·      YMCA of Metropolitan Atlanta - $10,000 to support an after school program.
Committee or Staff Recommendation:
On May 15,2012 the Administration, Finance, Recreation and Parks Committee recommended placing this Item on the May 30, 2012 Mayor and Council Agenda.
Financial Impact:
Upon approval of Budget Amendment 22115000-05-30-12B, $417,613 will be available in Org 22115000, Project 18003, in various accounts.
