Roswell has been recognized by the GRPA as having the best Recreation and Parks Department in the state. The City was recognized for excellence and leadership in providing quality recreation and parks programs and facilities to their citizens.
The Agency of the Year Award categories are based on population and Roswell won in the Over 80,000 category. Roswell has won this award eight times. The City has done this consistently over the years by developing and updating its comprehensive master plan.
In addition to updating the Master Plan this year, the City also opened its second sprayground at East Roswell Park. Other notable accomplishments include installations of restrooms at Big Creek Park and Garrard Landing Park and a new sand volleyball court at Don White Memorial Park.
