Item Summary:
The City of Roswell current Zoning Ordinance allows Animal Hospitals and Veterinary Clinics as a Conditional use in C-3 and as a permitted use in I-1 and H-R zoning districts. In districts where permitted, animal hospitals and veterinary clinics shall have all structures and activities located at least one hundred (100) feet from any property zoned or used for residential purposes. The operation of such animal hospital or veterinary clinic shall be conducted entirely within a sound proof building; and further provide that no runs, sun areas, exercise yards, patios or facilities be permitted outside such structure. The City of Roswell has 16 clinics located in the allowed zoning districts or grandfathered by way of annexation into the City. The proposed change would allow the use of an animal hospital and veterinary clinic in the O-P zoning district as a conditional use with the same requirements as existing animal hospitals and veterinary clinics.
